The effects of climate change are already apparent in Alberta, with observable changes in temperature, precipitation and extreme weather over the past century. Further climate changes are already locked in because of previous greenhouse gas emissions. The result is more frequent and intense flooding, drought, wildfires, hail, and wind and snow storms—all causing significant impacts to community infrastructure, services and citizens.
To prepare for this reality, communities need a twofold strategy: to reduce emissions and to increase resilience to these inevitable impacts. All One Sky Foundation has the expertise to help Alberta communities develop cost-effective strategies for proactively adapting to a changing climate. We offer technical training and education, risk assessments and planning support.
